Order Processing, Shipping & Returns Policy

Welcome to the Geir Kogstad Art Gallery’s official Order Processing, Shipping, and Returns information page. Here, you'll find all the details about how we handle your order — from the moment you click "buy" to the moment it arrives at your door, and everything in between (including if it needs to come back to us). We’ve included all the fine print, just the way we like it: detailed, transparent, and easy to refer to later — even if you don’t read it all now.


1. Order Processing

1.1 Order Confirmation
After you place your order, you’ll receive an automatic confirmation via email. This includes your order number and a summary of your purchase. Please make sure all the information — including your shipping address and contact details — is correct. Errors can delay your shipment or cause it to be undeliverable.

1.2 Processing Time
We aim to process all orders within 1–3 business days. This timeline does not include weekends or public holidays. During high-volume periods (such as holidays or art releases), processing times may extend to 5–7 business days.

1.3 Modifications & Cancellations
Orders can only be modified or canceled within 12 hours of purchase. Once the order enters processing or ships, it cannot be changed. If you still need assistance afterward, our Returns Policy may be applicable.

1.4 Out-of-Stock or Unavailable Items
If an item becomes unavailable after you’ve placed your order, we will notify you by email and offer the option of a refund, substitution, or waiting for restock.


2. Shipping Policy

2.1 Carriers & Delivery Services
We ship using a variety of trusted carriers including Bring, Posten Norge, DHL, UPS, and FedEx. The specific carrier is chosen based on your shipping location and the type of product ordered.

2.2 Estimated Delivery Times

  • Standard Domestic Shipping (Norway): 3–7 business days

  • Express Domestic Shipping: 1–3 business days

  • International Shipping: 7–21 business days, depending on location and customs processing

Please note these are estimates and may vary due to weather, carrier workload, or customs clearance delays.

2.3 Shipping Costs
Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on delivery destination, item size and weight, and shipping speed. Occasional promotions (like free shipping) may apply to certain regions or orders.

2.4 Tracking Your Order
Once shipped, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with a tracking link. Please allow up to 48 hours for tracking information to update after dispatch.

2.5 Delays or Lost Packages
We are not responsible for delays caused by carriers or customs. If a package is confirmed lost after investigation with the carrier, we will offer a replacement or refund. Please contact us at orders@kogstad.no for assistance with missing shipments.


3. Customs, Duties & Import Taxes

3.1 International Orders
Buyers outside of Norway are responsible for all import duties, customs fees, VAT, and taxes levied by their country. These are not included in the purchase price or shipping charges and will not be reimbursed by us.

3.2 Customs Clearance Delays
We cannot control or expedite customs processing times. If your order is delayed by customs, we recommend contacting your local customs office directly.


4. Returns & Exchanges

4.1 Return Eligibility
We accept returns within 30 days of delivery, provided items are unused, undamaged, and in their original packaging. Certain items, including limited edition prints, custom-framed artwork, or final sale pieces, may not be eligible for return unless damaged.

4.2 How to Initiate a Return
To begin a return, email us at returns@kogstad.no with your order number and reason for return. We will respond with return instructions and, if necessary, a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number.

4.3 Return Shipping
Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item was incorrect, defective, or damaged on arrival. Please use a trackable shipping method when sending returns to:

4.4 Refunds
Once we receive and inspect your return, we will issue a refund to your original payment method. Please allow 5–10 business days for the refund to process. Original shipping charges are non-refundable unless the return is due to an error on our part.

4.5 Exchanges
For exchanges, we kindly ask that you return the original item and place a new order. This ensures faster processing and availability of the replacement item.

4.6 Damaged or Incorrect Items
Please notify us within 5 days of delivery if your item arrives damaged or incorrect. Send photos and a description of the issue to returns@kogstad.no and we’ll take care of it.


5. Other Important Information

  • Items returned without prior contact may not be accepted.

  • Returns must be in original condition — unframed, unmounted (unless sold that way), and securely packaged.

  • We are not responsible for any delays or losses due to incorrect addresses submitted by the customer.

  • If a package is returned to us due to an incorrect address or non-collection, the buyer will be responsible for the re-shipping cost.

  • This policy is subject to change. The terms that apply to your order are those posted on the website at the time of purchase.
